Seventies looking Swedish furniture is all the rage lately not only in conventional furniture design but also in baby furniture. If it is made out of teak, some kind of blonde wood or made entirely out of one piece of melded wood than it is considered to be very hip and cool. Think of the kind of furniture that Gwen Stefani or Brad Pitt would be inclined to put in their baby’s room and you are on the right track.

If you looking for a rocker for your baby that is almost like a high-end piece of designer furniture that would be found in a Stanley Kubrick film then you need to look at the types of baby rockers made by a company called Bloom. You can see what they look like on a site called Gingerbread Monkeys, which has tons of photos of them in every color of wood and every color of fabric.

Architecturally these unique rockers are aerodynamic and also iconic. Even though they are kind of pricey they are real conversation pieces because they almost look like pieces of art. They are the baby rocker equivalent of the Movado watch which is collected in museums.

The company calls these dynamic baby rockers — loungers. These loungers are available many different colors. The best thing is that there is no assembly required because the Bloom Lounger is all in one piece. It looks like a big bent piece of wood and as well as designer combinations for the seat versus the rocker itself. For instance you can get a black base with a black, orange, blue or red fabric seat. The fabric is vinyl and very washable. I have heard that you can also get these in leather but I have not run across them online yet. Maybe this is the type of designer touch that is only found in Sweden or Spain.

The rocker itself is nicely polished so you can see the grain of the wood. The rocker is a U shape with a dip in it for the seat.

The seat itself comes with a five point padded safety harness and an easy to clean leatherette seat. The pads make sure that if your baby gets fussy that he or she can’t hurt him or herself. The straps are nice too. They don’t look all cheap – like a bungee cord holding your baby in the seat.

The price for this designer baby lounger is not very cheap. It clocks in at $250. This is to be compared to forty bucks for a cheaper, less artistic looking one that you could buy at a Walmart or Costco. However it works really well. Your baby does not have to wriggle around much before the U shaped board develops a “wang” motion. Basically it is a sensitive instrument that can keep your baby soothed and happy for many hours.

Bath blossoms have been around a while and basically they are flower petals that are put in a giant muslin bag, like an oversized tea bag. They are used to perfume water and also make it more healing and therapeutic.

The idea of bathing in blossoms in order to deodorize or heal oneself is as old as mankind. Cleopatra had rose petals sprinkled in her bath along with milk. The Romans also sprinkled petals in their bath. The Victorians scented their bath water with all kinds of herbs and blossoms and also the peels of fruit.

I have always loved bathing in petals when I am at an expensive spa and I was pleased to find out that a very innovative company is now putting out flower petals.

Angel Baby Bath Blossoms is it when it comes to finding the ultimate when it comes to buy a cleansing yet aromatic treat for you and your baby. This is an actual bath in a packet that contains flower blossoms and you can find it at a company online called Earth Mama Angel Baby.

This is an organic herbal blend that is meant to calm down and comfort upset infant. It is made with the petals of calendula, chamolile, rosebuds and lavender as well as with organic lemon balm and organic oatmeal. Both chamolile and lavender are herbs that are known for soothing nervous tummies and settling down the nervous system. Babies love the scent and so do moms and some babies will play with any loose petals in the bath water or the muslin bag.

In addition — organic oatmeal would be very relaxing and soothing to the skin. If your baby has diaper rash or eczema the oatmeal would help cool down the inflammation that might b causing great discomfort.

Of course this indulgence is not just for babies. Moms will really enjoy taking a bath in these blossoms, which are packaged in a muslin bag. The idea is that you can or loop it so it is under the bathtub faucet and fill yourself a bath. If your child is very young you can dip the muslin bag full of petals in a bath. Be sure to always test the water when you put this type of bag into a baby’s bath.

It is probably not a good idea to just pick petals out of your garden and throw them in a baby bath unless you are 100% sure that they are organic and that there is no pesticide on them. However even if the flowers are organic they could have bugs or dirt on them that might have viruses or other things that are not good for baby on them. That is why when it comes to something like blossoms for the bath I do recommend buying them from a reputable company like Earth Mama, which specializes, in organic products for babies.

If you are worried about he Pththalate that is in plastic bottles then you do not have to fear it from Little Forest Products. This is a company that has created a line of botanical based products including shampoo, a daily botanicals lotion and therapeutic shampoo for babies with sensitive skin that is prone to eczema. All of the products are made from pleasant smelling botanicals that are 100% organic.

I find that using organic products is best for my baby simply because you never know what has been sprayed on an herb that has not been grown organically. The last thing I want to do is rub pesticide on my baby’s skin accidentally. The notion that I could be accidentally doing this absolutely sickens me, yet I guess that is the darkness that we work in every time we buy a bottle of something that is not labeled organic or phthalate free.

The idea that this company has put together products that combat the condition of eczema will be of some note to some moms who have little ones with a chronic case of inflammation. Eczema can turn up in all kinds of nasty places on a baby including on the arms, legs and of course on the baby’s rear. We know this as diaper rash.

The most exciting thing that this company has done lately is developing a line of products for the great outdoors. A Baby Sunscreen with an SPF of 30 is available and it is free of artificial colors and fragrances and is also water resistant. An SPF of 30 is harder to get baby, especially organic ones.

The company also makes a mineral resistant formula that can be put on the face, lips and nose of the is a stronger physical block and can help protect your baby’s sensitive new skin from the harsh rays of the sun. Your baby can be painted all up like a circus clown with this stuff.

The line of outdoor products is topped of with a Bug Block that is DEET free and a Soothing Cooler gel that helps provide relief to sunburned baby skin. These products are very expensive, at over fifteen dollars per four ounces or so from this company but worth it because they are so high quality.

Of course the big thing is that this line of products for babies does not come in bottles that are tainted with the cancer causing phthalate in the plastic. This can’t be said of all companies who make organic products for babies. I have always wondered what the point is of packaging all of this organic stuff in bottles only to organic too is because the companies that tend to make them, like Little Forest, tend to just be more conscientious about their packaging in general.

Many people who put things off are surprised at themselves and also disappointed in their own behaviors. Many of them, especially women, feel like failures.

Your best tact is to get out of this “victim” position where you believe that you can’t win when it comes to taking control of your time.

Procrastination is the fine art of making something that is not a priority a priority. This is a hard concept for many to grasp. This is because there is more pleasure associated with procrastination than with getting a priority done.

One of the tricks is to start training yourself to feel gratified when you actually do accomplish something. Perpetual procrastinators are always finishing things at the last minute and therefore never experience these feelings.

You need to start identifying the types of feelings that you are experiencing when you are procrastinating. What is the feeling that is the payoff? How do you give yourself permission to procrastinate in the first place? What is your cue to move away from what it is that you are supposed to be doing into things that are less productive?

The key to stopping yourself from procrastinating is to recognize that when you feel this feeling that you are about to waste some time. You can literally catch yourself in the act and stop yourself before you go too far.

Some people feel pleasure, elation, shame, guilt or redemption. It can even be a combination of these feelings as the emotional response to procrastination. Simply use these feelings as the red flags to stop yourself in your tracks before you start surfing the Internet or calling a girlfriend to gossip (instead of getting things done.)

It is also important for you to understand exactly why you procrastinate and in doing so you will be in a better position to avoid allowing it to happen to you, over and over again.

Every person is different and has a different personal reason for putting a chore off. Furthermore many of these reasons may be absolutely valid. Still part of achieving our goals is keeping an eye on the goal and not on the reasons why we should not achieve it or even don’t deserve it. Many people procrastinate when they get a big opportunity because they are afraid they will fail. Even greater sometimes is the fear of everything they may have to deal with if they are actually successful in life.

It may take you some time to get the hang of recognizing the feelings that may cause you to procrastinate. Just remember – a feeling always precedes the thought that leads to the action that causes you to waste time!

So pay attention to your feelings as they give you that clue about what is about to trigger a big episode of putting something very important off.
