Is fancy water hurting your teeth? Fancy water is any water that has something added to it. Some dentists will tell you fancy waters that have flavor added are no substitute for tap water. Apparently the concern is that these bottled waters don’t contain enough fluoride to adequately protect and maintain your teeth from decay. Most of them don’t contain any fluoride at all. Fluoride is actually added to city water at the water filtration plant. This is terrible on your kid’s teeth. I don’t really give my kids more expensive flavored waters more often. Only when it is hot.

A controversy has been raging about whether or not fluoride actually causes tooth decay for more than a decade. There are some people that think that the addition of fluoride to our water is part of a big conspiracy to keep our teeth rotten and keep dentists in business. Does your kid need fluoride? This is something that you might want to do in moderation. I don’t know what to do because all of the messages are so mixed so I make sure my kids drink half bottled water and half tap water. The key is variety when it comes to water types. That way you are hedging your bets. They are not getting too much fluoride from the tap water or too much artificial flavoring or even sugar (!) from bottled fancy waters.

People who love bottled water are very aware of their health, and tend to want to sample the water “straight from the source.” They think that because they are drinking water bottle straight from an iceberg or bubbling spring that it must be pure because it’s fancy water. However there are absolutely no regulations, worldwide or otherwise, that determine the overall purity of bottled fancy water. So I really do worry about my kids.

Before I give my kids any kind of doctored up water I make sure I read the label. Nowadays they are pepped up with all kinds of things. Mostly these substances are uppers and include things like ginseng. Sometimes really toxic stuff is added like food coloring.

You also see weird things on bottled water labels like ozone. Have any studies been done on what that could be doing to a kid? Apparently this helps the body absorb water faster but are there really any studies regarding that. There is no scientific evidence to back up this claim that oxygenated water is absorbed quicker by the water.

Flavored fancy water, the ones that have a hint of orange or lime in their brew are the favorites of many people who get sick of drinking their water plain. You can also get a charge one day drinking caffeine water. However you can just drink a cup of coffee for much cheaper. I don’t feel like giving my kids a cup of water that is as peppy as a cup of coffee. Waters sometimes have things added to them like ginseng, kola nut and other natural uppers. Is your kid acting like he needs to go on Ritalin? Maybe the culprit is the additive in the water.

If you have a teen going into University and a bunch of kids down the lien going into school then you will probably want to know about the Parent Plus Student Loanda.

A Parent Plus Student Loan is a kind of federal student loan that is taken out by a parent on behalf of a child. These loans are never transferred to the student’s names after they graduate. As the mom or dad you are always responsible for them.

This means that the student has absolutely no obligation to pay this loan, which kind of takes the pressure off the kid. But not off me. The parent loan is the easiest type of loan to get because of this. Thankfully student loan consolidation and refinancing measures are available for this type of parent-sponsored loan after you have had one out for a few years.

These loans can be gotten easily and very cheaply at low interest rates. However there is a hitch. There is no grace period of three months or so after the student graduates. Payments on these types of loans start immediately. You need to be ready with the money. However the sooner you pay it off the easier it will be for you in the long run. The sooner your kid gets a job after graduation the sooner you will be able to get payments from him and her as well.

Just as an aside it is also important to know that this type of Parent Plus student loan can never be a joint loan that is arranged between one parent and another. It can only be taken out by one parent – either the mom or dad. Two people cannot be responsible for it and only one name can be on the signed form. This is true even if the parents have been married for forty years.

Also these loans require a bit of paperwork. You have to take out one for each school year. So this means that the one parent will apply for the school loan four years in a row. This loan is typically acquired in the summer and half of the student loan is released out of an escrow type fund to the student in the fall and the other half in the spring.

I have the secret to cutting the interest on these student loans. You can immediately refinance them as soon as the second half of the loans is given to the student in the Spring. For example took out a Parent Plus loan in the first year. As soon as the second half of the loan is released you will begin to pay it off. Then your child may enter a second year of school. During that time you will likely take out a second loan. The secret is to take those two loans and consolidate them into one. Your payment will be much lower if you refinance the two loans into one rather than pay them both off separately.

If you have gained weight after pregnancy you might want to consider taking hoodia. It has worked with me. The key is to take it in a safe way. Then you will be guaranteed to lose the weight in a healthy way.

Like any type of weight loss aid or supplement you are the safest if you use it in moderation. It is hard to harm yourself taking hooida but it can lead to anorexia if you take it daily for a large number of months. This is because it cuts hunger so effectively that you do not notice that you are losing a lot of weight. Not feeling the hunger helps disassociate you from your body.

You can lose as much as pound a day on hoodia but you do not want to go for that. Your body will soon hit a level called a plateau. The plateau is the point at which you cannot possibly lose any more. It will go into “famine” mode and you will actually conserve pounds. It is a natural protective thing that your body does. It is not a good idea to lose too much weight like that as it can cause disorders.

The reason that I recommend it for moms who are a bit down and fat after giving birth is that it does cause you to feel slightly elated. Hoodia is a bit of a natural antidepressant but not so much so that you feel like you are on crack.

Hoodia can be taken every day and you can take big amounts if you like because it is not classifieds as drug. It is named a food. People in Africa eat it every day to stave off hunger and they have done this for centuries. In it’s natural state it tastes like a very bitter melon. That is why us Westerners take it in pill form.

Still you need to be careful with this stuff. Research done in Africa shows that if you eat nothing but hoodia for three months you will eventually starve to death. You just won’t feel the malnutrition set in.

The key to staying healthy while on hoodia and in fact on any type of diet that involves taking a supplement is to ingest a variety of different foods. Hoodia is a food but it is not considered to be a “whole” food like wheat grass. It’s value instead is to do with losing the pounds.

The biggest danger of taking Hoodia is losing too much weight too rapidly. You can lose ten pounds a week if you are the type of person who takes Hoodia and completely loses all appetite. However this type of rapid weight loss is very hard on the brain, muscles, nerves and heart and you could die if you were not careful with it With some individuals it takes as long as two weeks to work and with others the appetite suppressing effect seems to happen immediately. I did not take the recommended dosage at first and only took one pill a day. That resulted in about a one two pound weight loss for me a day.
